With the support of our staff and the City of Stockholm's various establishment programs, the goal is for you to be able to support yourself and get the key to your own home. On this page you will find information and links to various organizations that can help you.

Welcome House

At Welcome House, new arrivals living in the city of Stockholm can get support during their first time in Stockholm. Welcome House is located at Medborgarplatsen, in the middle of the city.

At Welcome House you can get answers to your questions about the city and society. You can get support on your way into work and studies.

The Public Employment Service

The task of the Public Employment Service is to match people looking for a job with an employer. They also help people who have difficulties entering the labor market.

Vocational rehabilitation is a collaboration between the Public Employment Service and the Social Insurance Agency. The aim is to enable more people with disabilities or ill health to return to work.

The Public Employment Service's establishment program helps new arrivals to quickly learn Swedish, get a job and become self-sufficient. Part of this work is to ensure that new arrivals who lack the necessary skills receive training first.

Jobbtorg Stockholm - for those on income support

If you receive income support, you will be registered with Jobbtorg Stockholm External link, opens in new window.. They will give you support and coach you to find a job or training. When your application for income support is approved, your case officer at the city district administration will book a meeting for you with a case officer at Jobbtorg Stockholm.

Jobbtorg Stockholm has several offices. You will be assigned your own coach and together you will draw up a plan to help you get into work or study.

Sfi - Swedish for immigrants

You can apply for Sfi at any time of the year and choose a course that suits your level. You can combine the course with work, work experience and other courses.

Digital support

Do you want to improve your digital skills? You can find good courses online and teach yourself. There are several places you can turn to for support in learning digital tools.

Center for civic orientation - new in Stockholm

Civic orientation is a course for those who are new to Sweden. The course gives you more knowledge about Swedish society. The course is given in your native language or another language that you know well. The employment service or municipality registers you for the course. The course is free of charge.
