Rules of procedure

According to the Rent Act, you must take care of your apartment and not disturb your neighbors.

In order for you and your neighbors to enjoy your property, we need to be considerate of each other. Here are some examples of the respect that neighbors should show each other.

• Do not leave windows open so that there is a risk of water and sewage pipes freezing.
• Avoid flushing water late in the evening and at night. Make sure that water taps are not open.
• Don't play music so that your neighbors are disturbed.
• Nail and drill only when it is allowed during the day.
• Contact SHIS staff if you want to put up pictures.
• Do not leave or store anything in the entrance hall, corridors, stairwells, attics or basements.
• Report any damage or defects in your apartment immediately. If you have not reported a fault that leads to major damage, you may be liable for compensation.
• You are not allowed to put up satellite dishes, outdoor antennas, signs, awnings or similar.
• You may not barbecue on your balcony or patio.
• You must not shake carpets or bedding from windows or balconies.
• Waste must be sorted and disposed of in the right place. If your property has a rubbish bin, you may only throw away bags that are tied and not too big.
• You must not smoke in public areas.
• You cannot have pets in your flat. If you have a special reason for having a pet, for example if you need a companion, you can get permission.
• Notify SHIS staff if you will not be in the apartment for a long time.
